Corporate governance systems
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, we recognize corporate governance as one of the most important management items. We make constant efforts to improve our corporate governance system, and make it even more effective, by enhancing our executive officer structure, creating internal control systems, and beefing up risk control management systems and compliance, since we see corporate management as the foundation to ensure sound, transparent and efficient management.
Internal control systems
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, we create, maintain and utilize the stringent internal control systems indicated below, and make constant efforts for their further improvement.
Internal control systems are in place in the following three domains
- Company-level control
- Areas related to management infrastructure, including compliance, regulations, and organizations.
- Business-level control:
- Areas related to business processes such as transactions, settlement of accounts, and income and expenditure.
- IT general/application control:
- Areas related to systems and regulations that supervise the development, revision and use of all kinds of program, and oversee data security and IT infrastructure.
Compliance systems
Based on the spirit of Mitsubishi Corporation´s Three Corporate Principles and Corporate Standards of Conduct, our entire company engages with compliance so that Mitsubishi Corporation Plastics business activities are carried out in a lawful and impartial manner. With corporate compliance becoming increasingly important, we have formulated our Executive and Staff Code of Conduct and other internal regulations, as well as improving and strengthening our company structure, for example by adopting a compliance officer system. As a concrete strategy, we are setting up multiple routes for discussions, notifications and reports. Going forward, as one of the key policies to boost our corporate value, we will continue to improve and strengthen our corporate structure still further so that awareness of compliance becomes thoroughly entrenched and permeates as far as each and every employee.
